Happy Birthday Jeremy!

Although I've been busy revising for exams this week, we weren't too busy to celebrate Jay's 12th birthday on Monday!

Looking forward to the next year!

In Which We Make A Sudden Return

Long time no see!

I have come out from my blogging hibernation now that it is the holidays, and the sun sets at a more sensible time- which means I can ride again after college! We have dusted off the tack and me and Jay are working on getting back to full fitness 😊

He seems to be enthusiastic to get back into it after his break!

2015 goals-

  • Increase the distance that we ride, and find some new routes
  • Get out and do stuff- even if its just borrowing someone else's school to ride in, go and do new things
  • More horse agility!
  • Get our cantering in the school 100% sorted
  • Socialise!

Long Time No Blog

Not very much has really been happening recently. Evenings are dark, weekends are overcast and rain is becoming increasingly frequent.

Jeremy is on his winter break now (lucky thing!), but today we took him, Tilly and Gracie the Greyhound out to have a walk in the fields. I thought they'd be snatching at grass for the whole walk, but they were full of energy! We let them off to have a good gallop around in all three big fields- luckily they were very easy to catch after half an hour of mixed eating and Thoroughbred impressions! Apparently the hunt came past on Wednesday, and judging by Jay's galloping, he wants to be a hunter too :p No pictures of our "walk" though, but Tilly's tiny little legs were quite hilarious.

I'm not going to do any December goals, because I've decided to give him a break and not ride over winter, but I'll do my yearly goals at the end of next month.

vi ses snart!

September Overview and October goals

I somehow forgot to post September goals, but it was still quite a successful month! Jay's jumping confidence has improved tons, which we're both very happy about. Yesterday we went out riding with a new friend, K, and her lovely mare S.

A few miles away is a forestry area that has a grassy track around it that is almost like a gallops track, and horses are allowed to go there, so we went to have a blast around- it was great! Even with little legs, he can still outrun a big horse :D

October Goals
  • Get into winter routine- I only get to ride at weekends, but I hope to keep Jay's fitness up so he's in shape for spring!
  • Go out hacking with as many new people as possible. Mix up our routes and riding buddies!

Apologies for Being a Rubbish Blogger

I haven't updated this for over a month, and I really don't know why!

At the start of the month I started college (doing Maths, Physics, Chemistry and Biology because I'm a nerd), but the bus only gets back to my village at 6 pm, and the evenings are getting darker, so I'm unable to ride in the evenings now.
Today we went for a walk round the block, because it was pretty nice and warm out. Jay was really good, despite Tilly being a bit distracting by acting as the local hedge trimmer!

Greedy mare needs to learn some manners! ;-)

Jeremy. on the other hand, was very well behaved- we did lots of transitions, steep hills and had did a few hill stops and starts to make him work!
He also had his first time wearing boots today- I should have got a video of the huge walk he did! Otherwise, he didn't bat an eyelid.

I've also realised that I didn't set any goals for this month, because I'm a bit of an idiot *facepalm*

Rosette!

Post man came this morning with a very exciting envelope- Jeremy's rosette from the showjumping!
At first we were pretty confused, because we were pretty sure we came sixth, not third... but after a quick look on the Horse Agility club website, it turned out that my class had been split- half of the entrants (me included) had managed to download last year's course instead of this year's!

I am very proud of little Jay :)
